I have a client I’ve been working with for years, who’s sold his home in one part of the state and is looking out where I now live.
He’s a character.
He wants fifty acres and a dilapidated farmhouse. Or he wants a little homestead with a tiny house. Or maybe a place with less land and some rental possibilities.
In short, he’s not sure what he wants next.
I thought we’d found it when we went out house hunting the other day.
The house was rustic, but it was on a dead end road, there were fruit trees, a greenhouse, a vegetable garden, and sixty acres.
But the answer to one question I forgot to ask killed that idea.
“When can you move out?” my client asked the seller.
“I was thinking May,” he replied. “I have a lot of stuff to move here.”
My client’s home sells on October first.
So we moved on. And I learned something.
