Imagine. Everyone wants to live where you live. Houses in your town are selling fast, and often there are multiple offers.
Why bother staging?
Because you’ll get a better price. It’s that simple.
A house that shows beautifully, that has no jarring issues, no obvious problems, that looks like somewhere a buyer would like to simply sit down and stay, is going to sell for more than a house that looks tired, or cluttered, or needs work.
This weekend I showed a house that was about as perfect as a house could be. It was spotless. It was bright and cheerful, it was furnished tastefully. It was welcoming. Electric candles were lit by the sparkling soaking tub in the master bathroom, music played softly.
I won’t be surprised if the buyers make an offer. They were clearly smitten.
The seller did that. That same house, with less attention to staging, with less awareness of lighting, atmosphere, and style, would sell eventually. But it would sell for less.
This version of this home is the epitome of move in ready. And buyers know that’s a rare thing. They’ll pay a premium for that.
