Sorry for the lag - despite my very best intentions, I lost a day on this newsletter.
Most of the issue, however, is with deals that should have closed weeks ago.
Everything has slowed down. Banks, title searches, even attorneys are all buried under a pile of work that has grown while they already had a backlog of paperwork left from the shutdown this past spring.
It’s hard on buyers and it’s hard on sellers. Buyers can’t make plans. Sellers are finding their closings aren’t happening in a couple of months - it’s more like five or six.
And realtors are scrambling to try to keep everything moving, and everyone informed, even if there’s nothing we can do to help.
It’s an exercise in patience.
